I like when the worlds we visit have depth. I always try to introduce a history into the worlds that I create. We get a little bit of that here, with a brief look at an earlier war in Anthasa.
I originally was inspired by my own uninformed mental picture of our World War 1. Since then I listened to a really good documentary podcast called Hardcore History all about the war, and I learned a lot. Pretty intense stuff. I’m not sure if I chose my imagery wisely or not.
I’ve been working on my art style on the side a little bit. My love of Star Wars obviously runs deep. I decided to draw my own character. His name is Durm Starbright. I must have made him up more than… a really long time ago. He’s been my Star Wars character in every paper and digital RPG that was Star Wars themed I’ve ever played. From the 6 sider dice pool game from West End Games, Star Wars Galaxies, the Wizards paper RPG, and the Old Republic MMO.
He was originally a complete Han Solo homage character. Since then he has aged. he lost his leg from the shin down at one point. He’s pretty old. I’m playing in Fantasy Flight’s Edge of the Empire with some friends, and Durm, now in his 50s, learned something about himself. He either found the Force, or maybe the Force found him. Now, with his trusty blaster in one hand, and a lightsabre in the other… well, see for yourself;
